Our nutricanis Kangaroo + Okra wet food is a hypoallergenic complete meal specially developed for dogs with allergies or intolerances. Only one animal protein source is used in our dog food (monoprotein). In our hypoallergenic dog food, this is kangaroo meat. Since most dogs living in Germany have not been exposed to kangaroo meat, it is particularly suitable for feeding dogs with allergies. Nutricanis hypoallergenic dog food is completely grain- and gluten-free, without corn, rice, or soy. We do not use preservatives or flavor enhancers. Instead, we use valuable ingredients such as high-quality meat and fresh vegetables. Kangaroo Meat in Dog Food

Kangaroo meat provides high-quality protein. It is particularly low in fat, typically containing less than 2% fat. It also provides valuable omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for heart health, as well as iron and zinc. It contains essential B vitamins such as vitamin B12, vitamin B6, niacin, riboflavin, and thiamine.

Why Kangaroo Meat?

Most dogs living in Germany have not yet been exposed to kangaroo meat and therefore have not had the opportunity to develop an allergy to it. For this reason, veterinarians often recommend kangaroo meat, as well as alternatives such as horse meat, for feeding allergic dogs.

Kangaroos live in the wild in Australia and are not specifically bred for consumption. Since the extinction of their natural predators, such as carnivores like the Tasmanian tiger, kangaroos no longer have natural enemies. As a result, their population has grown significantly, and each year a regulated number of kangaroos may be culled upon request by farmers. This is carried out by licensed hunters. Most of the meat from culled kangaroos is exported, with around 80% going to Europe, particularly to Germany, Belgium, Denmark, and France.

Okra in Dog Food

Okra is a vegetable and very low in calories. It is one of the oldest cultivated vegetables and was already grown by the Egyptians along the Nile around 3,000 years ago. Our wet dog food also contains milk thistle. Since the 16th century, milk thistle has been known as an important medicinal plant for liver and gallbladder disorders. For our recipes, we use the approximately seven-millimeter-long fruits, as they contain the valuable compound silymarin. Silymarin can protect, strengthen, and detoxify the liver. It is also believed to stimulate bile flow and thus have a positive effect on digestion. In addition, milk thistle extract contains antioxidants that naturally protect the immune system against harmful free radicals. Like other ingredients, silymarin is not a miracle substance that works instantly. Instead, nutricanis wet food contains a carefully balanced dosage designed to support natural liver function. This helps promote your dog’s health sustainably when fed regularly.
